A Ph.D. Research Assistantship position is available in Dr. Hou's lab at
University of Massachusetts Dartmouth now. The starting date is September
2009 or January 2010. The candidate must have BS or MS in Chemistry or
Biology. The possible research projects are (1) structure and function of
membrane proteins, (2) cranberry under environmental stress, and (3) Soar
energy catalysis and nanotechnology. Chemical and biological techniques
may include UV-vis spectrometry, fluorescence, HPLC, GCMS, LCMS,
electrochemistry, cell culture, site-directed mutagensis, protein
purification and characterization. Collaborations include Yale, MIT,
Boston College and UMass Cranberry Station. Interested candidates are
